Tom is one of the founding partners of Swanson & Bratschun. Tom’s patent prosecution practice spans technology from civil and environmental engineering to photonics to computer software to medical devices, emphasizing U.S. and foreign portfolio development, licensing and counseling.
Tom has counseled dozens of clients in the selection, clearance and registration of hundreds of trademarks throughout the world and manages portfolios ranging from a few to hundreds of registrations.
Tom has represented clients in all manner of administrative proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Tom has represented clients in a number of patent and trademark disputes and has also worked with trial counsel in providing substantive legal support in patent, trademark and licensing disputes. Tom has also served as an expert witness on patent procedure.
